Who We Are and How We Do What We Do
About Waypoint
We are a boutique partner for professionals who feel stuck, overlooked, or unsure how to move forward in their careers.
We’ve seen the modern job search and HR process from every side. We’ve worked in recruitment and executive search; we’ve hired, built, scaled and led regional and global teams, and we’ve designed the internal operations that make businesses work.
We’ve seen how decisions really get made, and we’ve watched careers unfold across matrixed global enterprises, venture-backed scale-ups, start-ups, and family businesses.
We also understand setbacks and restarts firsthand—moving countries, starting from zero, building networks, explaining awkward gaps and stretching for transferable examples in interview after interview – hoping one would finally click.
Our approach blends empathy with pragmatism. Our process delivers clarity and confidence – positioning you intelligently in the market and preparing you for the conversations that matter.

Work With UsJosephine
I honestly thought I’d lost my chance to work in my chosen profession.
I’d studied hard – even earned two master’s degrees – but my work history was all over the place.
Six years of moving for my husband’s deployments in regional towns, raising three young kids, and filling the gaps with short contracts and community work left my CV looking aimless, disorganized and inconsistent. That was before the overseas postings.
My education was already starting to feel outdated and disconnected as I hadn’t been able to build a solid, consistent work history . I worried I looked both overqualified on paper and under-experienced in practice
I wanted a real opportunity to develop professionally and progress again – I didn’t want to be seen as a hire that only filled a DEI quota.
I wanted to find a job that would allow me to use my strengths along with my sporadic experience where I would be able to grow professionally. Instead, looking at my CV just made me feel afraid that I would be put in the “too hard basket” unfairly and just be dismissed.
Speaking with Waypoint completely changed that. They didn’t just overhaul my CV – they really focused in to understand me, my skills, and my story. They showed me how all those pieces – the study, the moves, the contracts, the family commitments – weren’t liabilities, but proof of adaptability, resilience, and depth. They reframed my journey into a coherent, compelling narrative that finally made sense.
For the first time, I feel like my CV reflects who I really am and where I want to go. I feel proud, confident, and ready to re-enter my field – not as someone with gaps, but as someone with a story worth listening to and experience to contribute.

I’d spent decades working my way up – literally starting on the tools, then moving into specialist technical roles where the detail really mattered. My skills were strong, but in every workplace I ended up, at best, overlooked, and at worst, ignored or taken for granted.
Until a crisis hit and then they suddenly needed my knowledge, then I was indispensable – until the moment had passed and then I was sidelined again.
Nobody wanted to invest in proactively utilising my knowledge to build up a viable business. Instead they lurched reactively along with pretend experience. I was left stuck, frustrated, and starting to doubt the value of my own contributions.
I’d even gone back to Uni, hoping it would be a bit of a reset and open new doors. But it didn’t work that way. The grad roles I applied for weren’t designed for someone like me – employers wanted someone much younger and with much less experience. Nothing seemed to fit, and I wasn’t gaining traction anywhere.
Thinking that maybe my CV wasn’t truly reflecting my experience in a way that appealed, I hired a CV writer. However the results were disappointing. My CV was still weak, not truly reflective of my skills and incredibly generic. So much so that when I read the “final” product, it was so bland it left me confused about what my own strengths even were.
I was referred to Waypoint by a mate in my network, and I knew straight away this would be different. Instead of treating it like a quick resume update, they took into account the big picture, me, and what my long term career goals were before even looking at my CV. That reframing was invaluable – they helped me take stock, articulate what I actually wanted, then worked with me to reposition and rebuild my CV and my confidence to move forward.
Their insight and breadth of experience meant the guidance I got wasn’t off-the-shelf – it was directly relevant to both my immediate challenges and my long-term future. More importantly, they showed me that my job search, much like the path I took to get here, is going to be different – and that’s actually a strength.
I have no hesitation recommending Waypoint to anyone who feels overlooked, undervalued, or who feels that the job market won’t understand them. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all service. It’s nuanced, intelligent guidance that actually works.

When I was made redundant earlier this year, I’ll be honest – I was overwhelmed. I’d been with my previous employer for years, but I hadn’t kept up with professional development the way I should have, and suddenly I felt completely unprepared for what came next. That’s when I started working with Waypoint, and they completely changed the game for me.
Right from our first conversation, Waypoint gave me so much more than I expected. They helped me build a resume that actually showed what I was capable of, not just what I’d done. They prepared me for interviews until I felt confident, and after each one, we’d debrief with honest feedback that helped me improve every single time.
But here’s what really made the difference: Waypoint pushed me. They challenged me to aim higher than I thought I could, and they gave me the leadership guidance I’d been missing for years. Throughout the process, they managed to be exactly what I needed – sometimes that was a cheerleader reminding me I was worth more than I believed, and sometimes a coach who pushed me out of my comfort zone when I was tempted to play it safe and just take any job.
The most valuable thing Waypoint did was help me see redundancy differently. Instead of feeling like something awful had happened to me, I started seeing it as my chance to actually take control – to find not just another job, but the right role for where I want to go next.
If you’re going through a career change or just feel stuck, talk to Waypoint. They won’t just help you find a job. They’ll help you find your path forward.
